本文主要总结大多伦多地区就业结构和工作性质方面的新变化。多伦多在上世纪90年代中期经历了经济危机,其目前的经济状况明显带有后福特时代和后工业经济的痕迹。我们将首先通过对多伦多当前建成环境的考察来分析这一大都市地区经济万面的新变化,其次,将通过一些统计数字来总结多伦多就业市场的变化;最后,将找出造成这些变化的关键因素。我们认为多伦多与中国相对应的城市有相同点也有不同点。
Abstract：This paper examines recent changes in the structure of enployment and the nature of workin the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Toronto's economy emerged from a period of recession in the mid-1990s, and now bears many of the hallmarks of a post- Fordist, post-industrial economy. We describe the GTAs new economy first by surveying the character reflects recent changes in the metropolitan region's economy, and second by summarising some statistical indicators of employment change. Finally, we describe the key processes that account forthese changes. We suggest that there are both similarities and differences between Toronto and comparabe city-regions in China.
